Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Soaked Oats

Soaked oats. Overnight oats. Easy oats. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Soaked Oats. Whatever you call them – they’re amazing. And they’re pretty much as easy as breakfast or snacking can get. Throw together a few ingredients at night, let them soak and soften in the fridge, and by morning you’re eating a big bowl of deliciousness. Are you a peanut butter and chocolate chip fan? This one’s for you. Are plump, ripe blueberries more up your morning breakfast alley? We’ve got a perfect option for that craving, too. These oats go with just about any flavor you can dream up.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Soaked Oats

We’ve grouped 4 of our favorite soaked oat flavors, and turned them into single serving sizes for this grab-and-go batch of recipes. Each one fits perfectly into a small mason jar, so you can pack it along easily in the morning – just bring a spoon! With a larger batch of soaked oats, we always add some soy or almond milk to the bowl just like cereal when we dish them up the next morning. These single-serving soaked oats are milky, creamy perfection as-is.

    Why soak the oats?

It makes them easier to digest. We use raw oats and oat flour in lots of no-bake recipes. But not everyone can digest raw oats easily. *Me with my hand up here* Soaking the oats makes the nutrients easier to absorb by reducing their phytic acid content. If you’ve ever had a stomach ache after eating raw oats, try soaking or cooking them next time. Plus soaking in plant-based milk makes them super creamy and doesn’t love that!

    How to make soaked oats

All you need to make these soaked oats are rolled oats, your favorite plant-based milk, peanut butter, and some dairy-free chocolate chips. We like the mini Enjoy Life brand chocolate chips. Mini means they make their way into every bite – yum! If you like a little extra sweetness, add a tsp of coconut or cane sugar, too. Put it all together the night before in an airtight container or mason jar, and by morning you have creamy, chocolatey, peanut buttery oats that will rival any breakfast cereal.
