    How to Make Flax Eggs

    How to Make Flax Eggs

How to make Flax Eggs are a staple in Vegan Baking. In traditional baking, eggs add moisture and binding properties to cookies, cakes and so much more. But Vegan baking has to rely on a combination of other ingredients to achieve the same effect. We may have to be more creative in our baking, but the health benefits are worth it.

Flax is nearly all fiber and filled with calcium, magnesium, and vitamin B6. It’s a superfood among superfoods and is a welcome addition to any daily diet.

Making a flax egg is simple: just mix 1 tbsp of Milled Flaxseed with 3 tbsp of water. Let the mixture sit for at least 5 minutes. The wet flaxseed will take on a gel-like texture, letting you know it’s good to go. Then, add it to your recipe as called for.

Note: Milled flaxseed is what you get from grinding up flaxseeds. We can best digest flaxseeds once they have been ground up. Whole flaxseeds will pass through us, undigested, meaning we lose many of their nutritional benefits as well.

    How to Make Flax Eggs

Flax eggs are just one of many options for an egg substitute in vegan baking. They’re commonly used, highly nutritious, and one of my personal favorites.

Just a few recipes that use flax eggs:

    • Vegan Lemon Blueberry Muffins
    • Vegan Chocolate Banana Breakfast Cookies
    • Cinnamon Toast Waffles

If you were ever wondering how easy they are to make, now you know. Happy baking – Enjoy!
