Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce – Vegan

    Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce

This Asian-inspired Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce has a bit of spice with a hint of salty sweetness. It’s great on noodles, tofu, rice, and even salads. Need to add flavor to a cold noodle salad? This sauce can do that. How about a hot bowl of soup? Ditto the salad answer. Peanut sauce is delicious any day, but we’ve thinned it out and spiced it up to make it as AH-mazing and versatile as any other condiment jar on the door of your fridge. And bonus – it’s healthier than most bottled condiments, too.

    Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce

The first time I made this sauce was to dress up our Green Onion Baked Tofu. I had some Coconut Quinoa on the stove, baked tofu in the oven, and a bag of spinach because honestly, it’s just the easiest vegetable to assign to a dinner bowl. We have 2 spice lovers in the house and 3 sweet and salty lovers. So it’s rare that we find a flavor everyone can agree on. Granted, this sauce was still a bit too spicy for our 5-year-old. But 4 out of 5 of us loved it so that’s as close to 100% approval as we ever get!

The Coconut Quinoa bowl with spinach and Green Onion Baked Tofu ended up being one of the best things we made all week. The leftovers were gone immediately – and that’s a pretty accurate assessment of how good it was. When the leftovers sit in the fridge all week, we know it was a flop. This sauce doesn’t even make it to the fridge to be a leftover though. It always gets eaten up completely every time we make it!

    How do I make it?

If you have 2 minutes, you can make this sauce. Add the peanut butter, tamari, sriracha, maple syrup was water to a small bowl. Whisk or stir until everything is smoothly combined. Eat. On everything. Drizzle, drench or bathe your food in it because it’s just that delicious.

This Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce is:

    • Made in just 2 minutes
    • Equal parts sweet, spicy and salty
    • Made from simple everyday ingredients (probably) already in your fridge
    • Versatile
    • Packed with flavor
    • Asian-inspired

Looking for something to drizzle it on? Oh. So. Many. Choices.

    • Lemony Roasted Kale
    • Paprika Spiced Chickpeas with Bell Peppers
    • Tamari and Green Onion Chickpeas

So here it is, our Simple Spicy Peanut Sauce. We hope you love it as much as we do! If you try this sauce, let us know what you think with a comment, rating, or a pic on Instagram @plantednoshery. And as always – Enjoy!
